Autodesk BIM Collaborate Pro strengthens collaboration & clash detection
WorldsView, value-added distributor of Autodesk in Africa, delivers and supports Autodesk® BIM Collaborate Pro, formerly known as BIM 360 Design, across the African continent through its channel partners. BIM Collaborate Pro is a cloud-based design collaboration and co-ordination software which connects Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) teams on a single platform, helping execute design intent while delivering high-quality constructible models.
BIM Collaborate is used for design review and co-ordination, including automated clash detection, as well as cloud-based document management, project administration and advanced analytics. BIM Collaborate Pro has additional, advanced functionalities, when compared to the BIM Collaborate such as cloud collaboration capabilities for model co-authoring (this includes Revit Cloud Worksharing, Collaboration for Civil 3D and Collaboration for Plant 3D).
The easy-to-use platform allows project data to be managed, stored and shared. AEC teams can improve communication with easy feedback tools; accelerate timelines with live design co-creation; reduce instances of reworks; send Requests for Information (RFIs) and change orders with better construction documentation.
The software allows users to stay up to date with design progress, make smarter decisions with project insights as well as access constructability with automatic clash detection. It empowers Virtual Design and Construction managers to execute design intent and constructability of models by managing the entire design collaboration and co-ordination process in a common, secure data environment.
Additional features include extensive file support spanning over 50 file types (including MS Office 365, RVT, C3D, DWG, IFC and other Autodesk file types), robust security and enhanced resilience. To ensure your data is safely stored, the software has 18 levels of access permissions – which controls user access to files and keeps track of edits with auto-trail. This level of security also helps avoid time and version conflict. The integrity and availability of data is delivered through a stable Autodesk network and regular notifications of upcoming maintenance schedules.
“Due to BIM co-ordination and multi-discipline collaboration, our project was delivered with less than 1% rework. On a typical job, we expect to have between 8–10% rework,” says Russ Dalton, Americas BIM Director, AECOM, reflecting on the benefits of the BIM Collaborative Pro.
